The ledger

The Transactions tab is the record — search by merchant or note, set categories, mark transactions reviewed, and work the review queue until the ledger reflects reality. Transfers between your own accounts are handled so they don’t read as spending.

Categorize once, teach it forever

When you set a category, Always categorize like this turns the decision into a rule — future transactions from that merchant file themselves. Ten minutes of teaching buys months of silence.

Import from your bank

Import transactions takes CSV and OFX/QFX files — Apple Card, Chase, Amex, and most bank exports work. PES auto-detects the columns, shows you the mapping, previews the rows, and catches duplicates before anything is written. You can also Export CSV of your ledger any time.

Attach receipts

Any transaction can hold its receipt — attach a photo or PDF, and the row shows a paperclip with Tap to view. Warranty claims, returns, and tax season stop depending on a shoebox. Receipts are private to your account, like progress photos.
